I stumbled across this place completely by chance, and BubbaQ blew my mind. My brisket was perfect. Bubba was a gentleman. Everything. 10s across the board.
Best BBQ in Ashville, the fried chicken is on another level and brisket is the best ive ever had.
Stopped by to grab something for dinner. Walked in front door, ordered, and waited about 15 minutes in the car with a beeper to signal when order was ready. Got a pound of brisket and a large container of mac and cheese. Pick up at the side window. Made for a perfect dinner for two. The next day used the remaining brisket as topping for a Panera pizza. The fat is so delicious that I ate it and took an extra cholesterol pill afterwards. Oh yeah forgot to mention the covered outdoor patio with picnic tables if one wants to eat on location. It's a nice addition to the space and far enough away from the roadway so car sounds are tolerable.
Never disappoints! Roast beef, fried okra, green beans, potatoes and hush puppies! Dont' forget the horseradish!
You will NEVER go wrong with a BBQ plate from Big J's. Not only is the food outstanding, but the owner/operator is one of the kindest (and talented) people on earth. If you want BBQ, GO TO BIG J's!!!!
Best freaking fried chicken across these NC mountains, period. Sweet tea off the chain as usual! People and personality always a ten with a smile and very respectful!
The food was amazing! The best bbque I have ever had! The green beans and Mac and cheese were delicious too.
Finally got a chance to try this place and we were not disappointed. Smelled so good inside. Tiny place, takeout only. Got ribs, brisket, Mac n cheese, baked beans and cole slaw. Everything was great. Well seasoned and juicy meat. But the ribs were the star. The end piece had a crispy bark that was so tasty! They were very busy so recommend calling in your order ahead of time. The owner kept touching base that our order was being prepared. Very good service. We will be back.
